At BackstageIT we understand the importance of building a solid foundation and invest heavily in developer skills. In this blog post, we will explore how we foster a culture of continuous learning and growth and how this helps us keep up with one of our values – “Built to last”.

Cultivating a Learning Culture:

At BackstageIT, the commitment to skill growth starts with cultivating a learning culture, this being through encouraging employees to embrace a growth mindset and providing an environment that fosters curiosity, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. The regular team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and Learning & Development sessions create opportunities to learn from one another and expand certain skill sets.

Learning & Development sessions:

Speaking of Learning & Development sessions, we set ourselves a goal for this year – to implement a series of sessions where we bring speakers from different industries to share knowledge from their domains and teach us their techniques that will help us in our day-to-day work. For example, we already had sessions on mental health, time management, financial education, public speaking and many more will continue in the future. This is a good opportunity for the programmers as well, especially for those who are interested in coaching, because we offer the opportunity to share something they know or are interested in as a speaker.

Continuous Learning Resources:

An important thing we understood through time is that learning is an ongoing process. To support continuous learning, the company offers a budget of 500 euros to enhance the technical competencies of its employees. This budget can cover a wide range of things, including training sessions, workshops, online courses, books, participation at tech conferences like the “Moldova Developer Conference” (which is the biggest tech event in Chisinau), and many more.

By empowering developers with the right resources, BackstageIT ensures they can stay updated with the latest advancements and industry best practices.

English courses:

We go the extra mile and support our teams’ professional growth by offering English courses. Recognizing the importance of effective communication in today’s globalized business landscape, we understand that strong English language skills are invaluable. By providing English courses, we empower our programmers to improve their proficiency in English, enabling them to communicate confidently and efficiently with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders from around the world.

Hackathons and Innovation Challenges:

To promote creativity and innovation, we like to sponsor and participate in hackathons with our developers. These events provide opportunities to work on real-world problems, collaborate with colleagues, and explore new technologies. Hackathons not only fuel a sense of healthy competition but also encourage out-of-the-box thinking and the growth of practical problem-solving skills.
