International products, created from Moldova
Our teams contribute to products and solutions across different industries and international markets, from SaaS platforms and AI solutions to e-commerce products and complex business software.
One example comes from our extended team for Ask Phill, an Amsterdam-based e-commerce agency. As part of the team, our developer Nichita contributed to the NAKED Copenhagen project, a global sneaker and fashion retailer.
The project involved the migration of more than 15.000 products to Shopify and custom solutions to support inventory across seven regions, automate content updates, and manage high-demand product drops.
As Nichita shared: “We bypassed standard practice to produce one of a kind features. It was really exciting to develop.”
It is a good example of what an international career from Moldova can look like: you can sit at your desk in Chisinau and contribute as part of an international team to a product used by customers across the world.
When colleagues from the screen become colleagues across the table
International collaboration does not mean that everything has to happen through a screen.
Our colleagues often have the opportunity to travel and spend time with their international teams. One recent trip brought an entire team together for a Dev Summit focused on the practical use of AI in software projects. One team member shared concrete examples of how AI can support developers, and the team then put those ideas into practice.
During a one-day hackathon, they took on an ambitious challenge: rebuild their project from scratch with the help of AI. Together with a customer representative, they tested new approaches, exchanged ideas, and discussed potential improvements to the product.
The trip was not all about code. A quest room, dinners with other teams and the company’s CEO, and time to explore Amsterdam gave everyone the chance to connect outside of work as well.
And the experience works both ways
Our international partners also visit Moldova to work alongside their extended teams in our Chisinau office. These visits usually go beyond meetings and work sessions. Team dinners have become a natural part of the experience, with colleagues and clients exploring local restaurants and discovering Moldovan food together.
Sometimes, the relationships you build over video calls become much stronger once you have shared the same table.
Different countries. Different perspectives. One team.
An international environment also teaches you things that go beyond technology.
Different cultures communicate, give feedback, and approach decisions in different ways. Collaboration with Dutch colleagues, for example, often introduces our teams to a very direct and straightforward communication style. Feedback tends to be open and clear, with little room for ambiguity.
It may feel different at first, but many colleagues come to appreciate it: you know where you stand, expectations are clear, and problems can be addressed openly.
Over time, you learn to express your ideas more clearly, ask better questions, receive feedback with an open mind, and collaborate with people who may think differently from you.
Because to succeed in an international environment, you need more than English and the right tech stack. Curiosity, adaptability, ownership, and communication matter too.
